Brew and Boil

Brew and Boil
by David Estes

Witches, warlocks and wizards – the necessary ingredients for fantasy novels but not very relevant to our day-to-day lives, right?
That is what Rhett thinks until his entire world was literally turned upside-down overnight. In David Estes’s Brew, Rhett is a happy teenager on the football team with the girlfriend of his dreams. His best friend Xavier is always by his side. Finally, Rhett is finally in a nice foster home with parents who truly care for him – even if his mother is a little weird. His mother loves watching the witch trials that have become popular in the United States. Rhett thinks it is all silly and refuses to participate in the persecution of innocent people like they did during the times of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. But all that changes one night.
As it turns out, there are many witches, warlocks and wizards existing among humans and they are fed up of the persecution. One night they seek revenge and destroy the country. Rhett’s own life is in jeopardy when his reclusive neighbour, Mr. Jackson, saves his life. Now Rhett must find Beth and Xavier and hopes to avenge the death of those that he loved. It will not be easy because the magic-born will kill any human that they encounter. Are Beth and Xavier still alive? Can Rhett get to them in time? Will he avenge the death of those that were murdered? Read Brew and Boil to find out!

Brew and Boil is an addictive dystopian series that is nearly impossible to put down. Estes, author of the Dwellers Saga, has another great novel that entices people with strong characters and a powerful story. This is definitely a “must-read” for any fan of dystopian books!
